So, This Is Us

This is the company that Jack built. You see, Jack, our gentle, noble and dignified Rhodesian Ridgeback was also thermally fragile and rain averse. It's a long way from roaming the African savannah to living in the mountains of New Zealand, splendid as they are, and while it's a great place to be a dog it is not the ideal place for someone with such frailties and aversions as our Jack.

Jack needed some outdoor gear, and he needed stuff that was befitting his nature as well as his stature. We searched and searched and came up with things that looked more like horse covers and halloween costumes than gear fit for a Dog of his kind. So we made our own.

Little did we know but this was the start of something profound for us. We didn't stop at making better coats for dogs. This interruption to normal programming of our life has seen us move across the world, develop our curiosity about the how and the why of dogs, learn from dog behaviour experts we never dreamt would be in our lives and turn our hands and our hearts to enjoying and improving our connections to the noblest among us - the Dogs.

If you're reading this you're probably one of those sorts that would do pretty much anything for your dog. We know people who've cancelled their weddings to pay for canine cruciate surgery, refused to take cushy jobs because their dog can't come to work with them; who have given up their back seats, sofas, beds, clean floors and sparkling windows for their dogs. We get it and we hope that everything you find here in some way helps build the connection between you and your dogs by bringing comfort, joy and harmony to every activity, wherever your adventures take you.

Footnote

The hound in this picture is Reacher, Jack's great nephew (his sister's, daughter's offspring) and he continues the legacy of Jack. He's similarly thermally fragile and teaching us every day about what it is to live in the moment, follow our instincts and find the joy in life.
